In Amsterdam

We have, in fact, made it to Amsterdam! We left Paris yesterday morning and after passing through Brussels on the high speed Thalys train, we arrived at our hotel here.

After dropping our stuff off at the hotel, we wandered over to Vondelpark, which seems to be Amsterdam's equivalent to Central Park. It was super windy and we had to get used to the idea of dodging the massive amount of bikers here but the kids got to have some time to play which was lovely...

This is definitely a biking culture and the bikes far outnumber the cars here. They have all kinds of bikes too, including the one below that you can just throw your kids into the front of!

And this doorway across the street is just beautiful!
This morning, after some pretty good bagels we walked around Museum Plein and went to the Stedelijk Museum which had modern art and design.

After our time there, we spent the rest of the day with Brian's friend, Jubin, and his family at their place, which is not far from our hotel. It was especially great for the boys because Jonathan got to play with their younger son Jett who has (wait for it) Legos! We had a great visit too with Jubin and his wife Lily. It was a lovely, relaxing day!
