Go Royals!

Well the rain finally stopped for a minute and Chris and Brian were off to see the Royals play the Twins! The boys are having a nice time enjoying the sun that has been missing for days and some yummy snacks... and baseball too!

May Day

Yesterday was Christopher's fourth Pembroke Hill May Day! It turned out to be a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. This year, the second grade dance is called Sellinger's Round. The dances were followed by field day relay races that included the ball hop, the chicken run and the potato sack race. I was able to take some pictures but trying to keep Jonathan in one place on a crowded field and take quality pictures is not an easy thing!

We Help Mommy

Jonathan has been waiting and waiting for the opportunity to use one of those kid shopping carts at Whole Foods. We finally had a trip where we needed just a few things so J proudly pushed his cart around the entire store!

Bowlin' and Rollin'

These boys might be the cutest bowlers ever! Tiffany and I took the boys bowling and then to lunch today. We practically had the place to ourselves and they got the hang of things pretty quickly!

If you look off into the distance in the picture, you can see Jonathan's interesting use of the ramp!
And a close up...
Here is our Jonathan in action...

I also got to hang with Baby Christopher who likes to take off running whenever possible! Selfies keep him in one spot...

Earth Day Run

This morning was the annual Pembroke Hill Earth Day Run at Loose Park. It was a cool and fun morning and of course the kids all sprint out ahead of us at full speed. There is no such thing as "pacing yourself" when you are 8 years old and all your friends are taking off (and the run is only a mile). I, however, was pushing a 35 pound load in a jogging stroller, which I don't usually do anymore, so it was walk up the hills, run down the hills for us! It was a great morning with friends. I met Chris back at school later for and Earth Day picnic lunch at which I had the best veggie burger I've ever had. The cook at Christopher's school apparently makes the veggie burgers from scratch. Next time, I'm going to see if I can get her to share her recipe!

Zoo Trip!

We had a lovely morning to go visit the Kansas City Zoo with our neighborhood friends! Jonathan saw the polar bear, penguins, sea lions, monkeys and more. The highlight for this little boy though was the train ride!

It was a fun morning and J definitely wore himself out!

Plaza Bunnies

We took a trip down to the Plaza this afternoon to see the Plaza Bunnies! Christopher, our very serious tour guide, led us through and showed us all the bunnies.

We even saw a bunny named Brian!
And the doggies got some Easter love from Grammy...

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from these two handsome boys and their parents!

Lounging

Our patio furniture has arrived! We unwrapped it today and the boys (and I) tested it out. Everyone seemed comfortable and satisfied. We are nearing the completion of our patio and backyard. More pictures to come soon!

Sugar!!! And Bubbles

Normally I'm all about eating healthy, but Easter is coming tomorrow and this will be our dessert--Lucky Charm treats! And they're gluten free Grammy...

Also, we got a bubble machine. Genius invention!

Deanna Rose

The rain held off, the weather was beautiful and so we made a last minute decision to take a trip to Deanna Rose, instead of story time, with Tiffany and her kids. It was a lovely morning and we got to hang out with all the baby animals! Here is J with the new batch of goats, named after Harry Potter characters...
On the swings with Noah...
In the play tractor...
These two boys were being hams in the "flower pots"...

Big Fun in Texas

We had a wonderful weekend visiting the Titus family in Houston this weekend! Moving in the opposite direction (weather-wise) from our trip in NY, we had to pack shorts and flip flops for the 80+ degree weather in the south land. The kids and the grown-ups had a blast together and we look forward to returning!

It was Elliot's birthday while we were there so the kids got to go to his party at their tae kwon do place. Chris was super excited to wear one of Olivia's old outfits and Jonathan even took part in the festivities (for a little while at least).
