May Day 2015

Today was our second year experiencing the Pembroke Hill May Day celebration! It was significantly warmer than last year so that made the experience really nice, especially since it was Jonathan's first May Day. This year the kindergarteners performed the "Round the Village" dance which they've been practicing for weeks now. This year, Christopher's partner was Elizabeth and they did a great job! Here are some pictures from the day...

As an added bonus, the kindergarteners got to do their own field day relay races after the dancing. It was a great thing to watch and the kids had fun and wore themselves out! Here is a picture of Chris with Ms. Beckman and Ms. Clarke, his teachers...
Jonathan came along for all the festivities and was a trooper...

We've tried many new foods with Jonathan over the past month and most of them have been a big hit! Here is a list of the foods he's had so far...

LOVES: Sweet potatoes!!!

LIKES: Apples, pears, peas, barley, rice, millet, zucchini, peaches, mango, spinach

EH: Carrots and cauliflower

BLAH: Asparagus!!!! (Lots of exclamation points here for the highly negative reaction when trying asparagus. Nearly gagged.)

Today

As usual, the best way to get Jonathan to smile for a picture is to show him his dear friend, Happy Apple!

And the girls are enjoying a cozy, cool afternoon in their respective spots on the couch.

Earth Day Fun Run

It was a beautiful morning at Loose Park for the Pembroke Hill Earth Day Fun Run! The kids ran one mile around the inside loop of the park and it was a great turn out from the lower school. Parents, teachers, and kids enjoyed the run very much!
Christopher and I had a great time running together. All the kids received ribbons at the end and headed off to class. Happy Earth Day!

Party Time

In addition to spending the morning working on a service project at church, Christopher had two awesome birthday parties to go to. The first was for his friend, Andrew, from school who had everyone dress up as their favorite Disney/Star Wars character. The same face painter from a party he went to last year was there and she gave him a painted Darth Vader mask to "wear" for the party. There was also the coolest balloon maker I've ever seen making amazing creations for the kids. Chris received his official light saber balloon complete with a belt and holder!

Later in the day we celebrated Elliot's fourth birthday at Emerald City gymnastics. This must have been a busy birthday time of year because many of the kids at Elliot's party had also had parties earlier in the day. You can bet after running around the gym, all of these kids crashed for the night at home!

And then there are these two who have known each other for 6 1/2 years! Watching Chris and Olivia play together is wonderful because they know each other so well. In the car, Chris said, "I'm going to know Olivia for my whole life."

Even Jonathan got in on the gymnastics action with the big kids! He was ready for bed too when we got home!

Jonathan loves to play peek-a-boo with me and yesterday I caught him cracking up when we played it in his high chair...

Easter and Jonathan's Baptism

Today was not only Easter, but it was also Jonathan's baptism day. What a perfect day for his baptism and it was a beautiful service! Here are a couple pics from the actual service...

Christopher got to hold the water for the minister when he sprinkled the water on his head. He was a great helper! We had a lovely time with our family and friends who all came back to our house after the service. Here are some more pictures from our afternoon...

Two Wild and Crazy Guys

Bennett and Uncle Peter arrived today from New York and Bennett and Chris have had a wonderful time already! They played at Christopher's school, colored Easter eggs, rode bikes and played basketball.
