A Vistor and First Day Updates

This morning, when I went out to water one of my plants, we found a praying mantis hanging out on the flowers! Always cool to see. You have to look closely to see him...

And the boys both had great first days yesterday! Jonathan was happy to be back with his friends and this morning, he wanted me to drop him off so he could walk in all by himself. Chris had a great day too and said the fifth graders get a whole lot more independence this year. In addition to switching teachers for the major subjects, they also get to walk across campus to their specials on their own with no teachers. There's a catch though; the kids can be marked late if they don't get where they are going on time. Love it! Here is a nice picture from Pembroke's Facebook page of J and I from the first day...
