Overland Park Arboretum

Today, Christopher and I joined our friends Miss Danna, Liam and Lahna at the Overland Park Arboretum, a beautiful park just 20 minutes from our house. It was a lovely day and we packed for a picnic, which CJ got to enjoy in the grass. Here is our little man as we packed up the stroller to walk around the Arboretum...
Of course, as we exited the car, the tornado siren that was about 50 feet from our car began its monthly Wednesday morning test and Christopher was not too happy about it. We booked to the welcome center so we would not blow out his eardrums before he turns one. Other than that, we had a lovely afternoon looking at the wildlife and having fun with Liam and Lahna. We even ran into our friend Nathan from Kindermusik and his older brother and Mommy. Here are some pictures from our day:

On our walk around the pond, we saw snakes, turtles and ducks! (Oh my!)

And of course, the flowers at the arboretum are gorgeous! They were having a planting day where volunteers come and plant flowers all over the place.
