Before I talk about today's adventures, I cannot even believe that I forgot to let you know about the highlight of Jonathan's Croke Park tour yesterday. As we were walking through the stadium, he saw not one, not two, but three smiley face vacuums! You can imagine his excitement! Why I didn't take a picture, I do not know...
Okay so on to today. We left this morning for a beautiful tour of the Dublin Coast and Malahide Castle! It was very fun, our tour guide was great, and we heard some great stories about ghosts who used to haunt the castle. Also exciting for Mommy, we drove past the Mount Temple School, where the boys of U2 met and formed my favorite band of all time...
After the tour of the castle, we wandered around the gardens and found a butterfly garden!
We boarded our bus again and traveled through Malahide itself and went onto the fishing village of Howth, where Mommy enjoyed some fresh fish and chips and the boys enjoyed, well, chips!
After returning to the city center, we visited the GPO (General Post Office), scene of the 1916 Easter Rising, or the beginning of Irish independence. They had a great museum exhibit about the rebellion that we checked out for awhile. No pictures but very interesting!
Here are also a couple things we've seen along the way. Grammy might understand this reference the most but if you don't know why it's so funny, check out the YouTube clip of Conan O'Brien visiting the Chicago Irish Cultural Center...
We also found a pub for Uncle Peter...
And we ate in our hotel neighborhood for dinner tonight at the Hairy Lemon. That's right, the Hairy Lemon...
On to Galway tomorrow!
