In Old Kentuck, They Go Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck

I'm pretty sure right now that Grammy gets the title of this post, Chris is rolling his eyes and I now cannot get the song out of my head! We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Kentucky once again for Christopher to dance in the Mid America Oireachtas, our regional Irish dance competition. We thought our boy danced beautifully and he did as well. He got up there, showed confidence, did everything his teacher asked him to do and was happy with his performance. Here are some pictures from the day (Sunday)...

The weekend was not all about dance, however. We had a nice family road trip with a stop in St. Louis to stay at the Curio Union Station Hotel. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas and we had a fun evening there!

We arrived in Louisville on Friday in time to see Phillip dance his set dance and then, in typical feis fashion, ate lunch at 3:30. Saturday was chill day for Chris so Jonathan and I went out to the Kentucky Science Museum just down the block from our hotel. It was fabulous and we spent nearly 5 hours there! While there, I also discovered Jonathan's new favorite food--ham and cheese sandwiches. We had a great time together and here are some pictures...

One of Jonathan's favorite things is the "Weather News" and he and I got to actually be meteorologists! We did several more of these reports and with each weather condition, Jonathan advised viewers to "seek higher ground!"

There was also some down time when the boys chose to practice their dance moves...

Recently

Hello everyone! Here are some updates in the life of the Wogloms since Halloween...

First, Christopher is at that age where he is starting to care about his haircut and wants to have a little style. Looks like no more Great Clips for us! I took them to this "guy" barbershop and they got fantastic cuts (along with pomade that they are both styling their hair with daily! 😂😂😂)...

This past weekend, Brian took the boys to Arkansas for a double feis. Chris placed 5th on Sunday and walked away with yet another crystal bowl!
Jonathan loved eating bacon in Arkansas...
While Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some amazing vegan nachos yesterday in KC, compliments of (well, we had to pay for them) Mattie's Vegan Food Truck...
The boys went to Arkansas without me because I had to go up to Cooperstown to visit my dad, who was in the hospital. Long story short, he is doing a lot better now. While I was there, I woke up to a beautiful sunrise in the mountains and a visitor having breakfast...

I also was reminded of the proper pronunciation of coffee (not that I needed the reminder!)...
And I found a few photo gems from my childhood!

Including this shot with Claude Lemieux, my favorite NJ Devil in the nineties!
This week has been back to normal and Chris has taken it upon himself to teach Jonathan how to read 💕...

More Halloween

Above is pictured our two superhero boys--Bumblebee and Keith, the paladin from Voltron. On Halloween evening, we had a crew of friends over to eat pizza and set out to go trick-or-treating. Despite the cold and snow, the kids made out like bandits and collected more than enough candy!
Later, after returning from their outing, the kids sat around eating and trading and eating some more candy...
It was a fun night and Chris and his friends slept over (not here!!!) at Cameron's house and had a great time. After getting about four hours of sleep, Chris slept well last night and we are having a somewhat chill Saturday morning. So are the dogs...

Halloween?

Well today is probably the kids favorite time of the year--the day when people just give them free candy! It's Halloween although it didn't look like it this morning...

And then, because of a miscommunication in email, I missed Jonathan's ghost walk because I was in the gym where the lower school parade was (they are usually altogether and you would think since it's 25 degrees out that maybe the little ones should be inside too?). Anyway, thanks to some wonderful moms in J's class, I got some pictures of my little Bumblebee (the Transformer, not the insect)...

I was able to be at his classroom party however and we had a lovely time there...

Later, we are supposed to have a bunch of Christopher's friends over to trick or treat and to have pizza...
