Swimming at Grammy's

We spent the afternoon at Grammy's pool, where the boys (and Daddy!) went swimming with Grammy. There were a lot of shenanigan's, followed by a little tomfoolerie...

Chris is staying at Grammy's tonight so J was being silly on the other side of the sliding door!

Dance Family

Why is it that every time we get together with our Irish dance family, a bar is involved? We had a busy and fun weekend, including a get together to celebrate one of the dance dads who just retired from the military and is off to the Middle East for a one year contract job. The kids all had a great time (pizza and cookies--what more could you ask for?) and it was a great turn out to support the Furgazatto family! With all we did this weekend, these were the only pictures I managed to take...

And, of course, what could be better than the captured image of George Brett losing his mind in the pine tar incident!
We also planted more this weekend, including herbs and broccoli, although no pictures were taken. Have a great week!

Last Couple Weeks

Here are some pictures from our last couple of weeks! First, the Lower School had its annual spring open house and we took Grandpa T there to check it out. Below is the Spanish classroom followed by a fourth grade work of art and a sculpture made by Christopher...

Last weekend, we had a bunch of family visiting so Brian and I camped out in the library. While we were out, Holly kept the bed warm...
The weather was gorgeous so I planted some hearty greens in the beds. Very exciting to see the green stuff in there!

Then there was Spider Man...
We took Grandpa T to the park with us and Chris saw another kid with a broken something (foot? ankle? leg?) so he wasn't alone.
 Dinner at Midici's!
 A gathering of the grandparents...
We went to the O'Riada Manning Showcase. It was missing our favorite dancer but it was fun to watch the kids show off all of their hard work!
And now Chris has a broken dance buddy. Poor Mary broke her toe and the two of them showed off their matching "shoes."
Now that the weather is nicer, Jonathan and Christopher are busting out their shorts and tee-shirts. Do you recognize this one? The shirt and shorts once belonged to Chris and now J can fit into them. According to Chris, "I feel so old!"

Recent Pics

This weekend, we tried a new restaurant that opened called True Food Kitchen. It was delicious! Here are some pics from our visit. Notice the intruding chopstick...

Chris went to dance yesterday and got his cast signed by some of his dance buddies! There were more signatures at school today.
We are conducting a little experiment in which we repotted a few of our seedlings in bigger pots. It's still too chilly at night to put them in the ground but we need to move them from the starter kit. We'll see which ones grow better!
This week is actually going to warm up a bit and it started today! We were outside riding scooters (well, scooter--Chris is banned from wheels for awhile) and J stopped to pose some funny poses...

The DL

Well, we thought it might happen at some point, we just didn't know it would be so soon into his dance career. A genie jump went awry at dance class the other night and Chris broke his foot. He has been handling it like a pro, even with the knowledge that he can't dance for 6-8 weeks. In a way, he's relishing having a cast on his leg and can't wait for everyone to sign it! He's definitely disappointed about some of the upcoming dance competitions and events that he will miss but he's still planning on attending some events and classes. There is still a lot he can do to stay in some kind of dance shape and he was watching a video this morning with some non-foot exercises. In the meantime, we are going to be playing a lot of cards and Monopoly... The other night, after he hurt his foot, we were still at dance class and Chris was being measured by one of the moms for his new vest. This, of course, is not his vest but we sent the picture to Daddy telling him it was...
Then there is Jonathan, who loves to curl up with Legos...

Even though we are sad for Chris that he got hurt, we are happy to have him here with Daddy this weekend. They were originally going to Dallas for a feis but now they get to stay home with us! Athena is also ecstatic...

Recently

We have been having some beautiful weather out here in Kansas for the beginning of spring! The boys have been getting outside a bunch and my favorite thing about spring is about to get going--the garden! This year, we decided to try some seed starting. Last fall, Christopher saved cucumber, pumpkin, and gourd seeds. He washed, dried and stored them himself and we decided to get a starter kit the other day to see what would happen when we plant them. We also picked up some romaine and chard seeds at the garden center. Here is our starter kit after a couple days...
It is hard to see, but the romaine sprouts were starting to come up! Then this morning, we could see chard sprouts and a couple pumpkin sprouts too!
We have been getting together with our neighbor friends to play outside too. Jonathan, Noah and little Christopher have been a little scooter riding gang...
And baby Derek is the cutest, running all over the place and making Tiffany keep up...
Jonathan has been a Lego-building machine recently too. He has incredible patience for his age with the Legos and will sit and take things apart, then put them back together. Now he can move that practice outside!
The boys had a wonderful visit with Nancy while she was here. Chris played a lot of Monopoly and card games with her. One night Grammy joined the card game too and there was an intense game of 500 Rummy...
Daddy has been doing a bit of traveling for work this week and this picture ended up on the computer so I thought I'd share it. He was in Idaho in the beginning of the week...
Chris and Brian are heading down to Dallas again this week for a return trip for the Bluebonnet Feis too!
