This past year, we got a membership at Union Station which includes unlimited admission to Science City. One of my favorite things about Chris going to school until one is that we still have our afternoons free. Often we will get together with friends or play outside (if the weather ever gets above 20!) but it is also nice to have Science City as an option. And on a weekday afternoon, there is hardly anyone there so we practically have the place to ourselves. Two of Christopher's favorite rooms in the astronaut training center and the citiblocs construction room. They are right next to each other which is perfect because Chris will often practice landing the space shuttle on the simulator they have and then go and build his own shuttle out of these blocks. They have hundreds of the blocks so you can imagine what can be built! In the picture above he is sitting in the pilot's seat of his shuttle and here are a few more pictures of our creations. Mommy gets in on the action too!

Planes and Dogs
Two of Christopher's favorite things…
These days, Chris is a plane-making machine. His interest in aviation has reached epic proportions and he now knows more about the different types of aircraft that exist in the world than many pilots. His interest extends to the construction of planes and we have quite an abundance of homemade planes in our "hangar." Here are a few of Christopher's recent creations that he wanted to share with the blogosphere…
In order, these planes are a new model of the Concorde, the F 18 and the Stealth Bomber.
Another one of Christopher's favorite things is dogs, especially our own. Here are some fun pics of the girls…
…waiting for food? toys? loving?
…looking for bunnies...
…wondering if maybe the bunnies went behind the couch…
…and soaking up the sun when it's too cold to do so outside…

Celebration Day
Since Christopher's birthday is in the summer, he had his celebration day at school today. It is so he can celebrate his birthday with his friends. We had a great time visiting his classroom, telling about his family and some of his favorite things, reading a story (about planes, of course) and sharing a snack with everyone. Chris was very excited about his big day! The most fun for me was seeing all of the pictures the kids made for Chris and each one got up, brought their picture to him and told him what it was about and what it said. Here are a couple pics of friends giving him their cards…
It was a very fun day for us all!

Valentine's Day Party
Christopher's class had a sweet little Valentine's Day party with stories, games, crafts and treats. It was a fun morning and we are so grateful for all of the nice friends Chris has made this year!

Snuggles
Can anyone look more comfortable than Kasey Moe?
And she's not the only one who knows how to relax in style. These two pups are really growing on each other…
When the dogs are not snuggling on the couch, our child is building pillow forts out of it!

Snow Day!
As previously mentioned, in Kasey's birthday post, schools were closed due to snow. Among many fun indoor things we did today, Christopher went sledding at Shawnee Mission East High School with the kids from our street. It was too frigid to take pictures while there, but here is the face of a satisfied sleigh riding customer…
Note the rosy cheeks! Anyway, we also spent the morning with the Hall kids down the street and had an 80s throwback kind of afternoon prior to sledding. Chris and I made shrinky dinks and nurtured his new found love of Connect Four! Knowing the way things are in Kansas, we will most likely have another snow day tomorrow so we'll see what fun will be planned for then. Stay warm everyone!

Happy 9th Birthday to Kasey!
