Preschool Visit

What did you say? You said I'm starting preschool next week? Huh? (I love the look on Christopher's face in this picture!). Anyway, we went to see Chris' new preschool classroom today and meet his new teachers, and the little boy loved it! His teachers' names are Ms. Karen and Ms. Jenee. You can imagine how excited he is that his teacher and his mother have the same name. Anyway, here he is exploring some of the fun activities in the class...
He even gets his own little cubby for his backpack and lunchbox. This is the real deal!
And after our visit we met Grammy for lunch at Panera. Yum!!!
Chris is very excited to start school. He goes in for an hour "transition" class next Wednesday and then his first full day on Friday!

Happy Feet Song and Dance

I believe that I mentioned in a previous post how much Christopher loves the movie Happy Feet 2 and the music from that movie. We probably listen to the music almost every time we get in the car (unless, of course, Mommy accidentally forgets the iPod!). I finally got him to actually watch the movie, or at least parts of it, this afternoon and here are a couple videos of him in action while he watched it. This first video is of him dancing...

The next video is of him singing the song "Under Pressure" which is actually the movie's version of the Queen song...

Preview

Here is a preview of Chris and Olivia driving around Kansas in their teenage years. There could be a million fantastic captions for this photo that could explain the looks on their faces so if you think of a good one, put it in the comments section! Special thanks to Dan for this amazing shot!

Bowling

Chris had his first bowling experience today! We went to Park Lanes with Luca, Sam and Noah and the boys took to the lanes donning their super cool shoes. Bowling shoes are cute on four year old boys, not so much on grown ups. Anyway, here is some footage of the experience. We did set up the bumpers and Chris and Sam also used the ramp for added assistance. Chris did get a spare in the 5th frame so I would count that as a successful first bowling experience! Actually, the fact that we made it almost through 10 rounds is success in my book...

My favorite part of the bowling was watching how serious Sam was about his game. He got a strike too! But he would stand there with his hands on his hips waiting for his turn and studying the lane. This boy was all business.
After our game, Chris and I went to the game room and played a little air hockey, a Mommy and Daddy tradition. Christopher beat me 4 to 3!

Shelter Island

The picture above pretty much summarizes the crazy summer fun that happened this past week at the Woglom family's Shelter Island residence: no shirts, watermelon, and lots and lots of sand! Christopher, Poppy, Elsie and Bennett spent more time together than ever and everyone had a terrific time! There are far too many pictures to post so I will add a select few. Among other things, we went to the beach just about every day, ate lots of ice cream, played what will most likely be the first of many "baseball" games in the backyard, and ventured out with most of the clan on the infamous Fat Frog. Oh, and Christopher wanted me to tell you he got to go to the dump. So here are some of the things we did. First the beach!

We spent several days going to Wade's Beach which is on Shelter Island. Because it is on the bay, the waves were small to non-existent so it was easy for the kids to swim there. They also dug lots of holes, built sand castles and collected rocks and shells. One other day we all went to Main Beach in Easthampton because we wanted to overpay for parking and the beach in Southampton where Daddy and Chris played while Mommy surfed. So fun!
The family also took to the open seas on the Fat Frog. Both Bennett and Christopher (and I think Poppy) helped Grandpa drive the boat. It was a perfect day for a boat ride!

More than anything, the kids just really enjoyed being together. Christopher, who is not a very huggy kid with other kids, was so happy to be around the triplets that he voluntarily offered out hugs to them! Here is some video as proof...

And here is more of the kids together...

It was a fantastic trip and we can't wait to go back next year!

Great Wolf Lodge Take 2

We returned to Great Wolf Lodge this past weekend with Christopher as our birthday present to our little man. He was so excited to see the giant bucket again that dumps all kinds of water all over the place and also to see all the different pools and slides. Chris had a fantastic time and we booked a special room this year that was called the "Kid Camp."
Christopher's section of the room had a "tent" with bunk beds in it and his own personal TV. We let him sit on the top for a few minutes but he "slept" on the bottom bunk overnight. It was a really cool room for him!

Needless to say, we didn't bring the cameras into the pool so no pool pictures this year. We did, however, talk to Chris as we did last year about his favorite part of Great Wolf Lodge at dinner. His answer was the same as last year but it was cool to hear how different his speaking is!

This year Chris played more video games in the arcade and then got to listen to the bedtime story in the great room. He also received a wolf tail which he proceeded to wear the rest of the time we were there.

The next day after a few more hours in the pool, we went to nearby Legends to eat at T-Rex Cafe. Chris was very excited to eat in the volcano section of the restaurant!
