Water play, Jumping Jax, and HAIR!

First of all, our boy needs a haircut. However, the last time we attempted a haircut, Brian and I both had to hold Christopher down and we were all sweating by the time the woman sort of cut and trimmed! Fortunately, with the warm, humid weather, little man's hair is curling up and is not yet falling in his eyes so we are able to hold off a haircut for one more day. But this is what it looks like after naptime.

Today, Christopher and I did not have much planned so we took a trip over to this indoor play place called Jumping Jax. Essentially, it is a building full of inflatable jumping rooms and mega slides. It was pretty fun but not exactly size appropriate for CJ. (Read: Mommy had to go on everything with him and was sweating by the end of the morning!) Prior to that excursion, Christopher and I went for a quick dip in the pool at the gym (before we got kicked out by the "ladies of water aerobics!"). It has been since August that Chris has been in the pool and he still absolutely loves it! This time he was swimming like such a big boy though. As I held him on his tummy, he was kicking his legs and splashing his arms around like a true triathlete (probably swam better than I did in my first race). He also stuck his face in the water to blow bubbles. Later in the day, I set up a big tub full of water outside for buds to play in since it was pretty hot today. He literally played with the water for two hours until Daddy came home from work! Among other things, he made the farm animals "swim" in the "big pool," watered our flowers with the measuring cups, and swiped some rocks from our neighbors in order to "clean" them. It is so incredibly amazing to watch Chris as he figures out how the world works. Here is the little scientist in action!

We are looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow as we are planning to go berry picking with a group of friends from our neighborhood. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Karin - Love your blog! CJ is adorable. We would love to hear from you if you have some suggestions to make things more toddler-friendly at Jumping Jax. We're considering a toddler-only time and also considering a smaller inflatable or two. Thanks for coming in and we'd love to hear more feedback! We will update your profile, so that your next Open Play time is on us!!
