Yesterday, we went to see "The Art of the Brick" an exhibit by the artist Nathan Sawaya at Union Station. It was incredible to see! This man creates amazing works of art using Legos. The pictures do not even do justice to what they look like in person, but you will get the idea. Some of the structures were made with 70,000 to 80,000 bricks. The boys had a great time and Christopher's friend Bella and her mom joined us too!
And today, I was putting lunch together and Jonathan sounded busy in the playroom. After a while I went in to check and he was building a rather large "vacuum" (what else!) out of fort magic pieces...

When Life Gives You "Ice..."
Dear Kansas,
I think we need to have a little chat. School does not need to be cancelled because the roads are wet. I'm just saying...
Sincerely,
A Concerned Citizen
Actually, we have been the fortunate ones. Christopher's school was open both Tuesday and Wednesday when all the other local districts were closed because of "weather" (also known as a little freezing rain and sleet). Today Chris and J were both off. Maybe it's because I'm from the East Coast or maybe it's because I lived in Michigan, but if we are going to have off of school, I expect to see a minimum of 5 inches of snow on the ground. Meanwhile, we drove a half an hour away to go ice skating! It was actually a ton of fun and Jonathan is getting better already. Our afternoon will consist of re-watching the US Women's Ice Hockey team beat Canada again. Because you can never see that too many times!
Five minutes for fighting! J looks like he was the instigator...
Curling up together to watch curling...
USA! USA! USA!
I'll be sad when the Olympics are over. We really love watching!!

Valentine's Day 2018
Yesterday was the third grade Valentine's Day party! As one of the room parents, I was involved in making the party happen and by default, Jonathan joined us for the party too. It was a lot of fun! There was good food...
And fun games (musical chairs)...
As usual, Jonathan becomes part of Christopher's class parties and gatherings. The big kids seem to enjoy him being there! They will get to see him even more next year as J will be officially starting preschool at Pembroke! Here is a video the teachers made from the festivities yesterday...
