Winter, I mean Spring, Break in NY

We spent last week in New York visiting family and friends. It was cold and snowy! At least the boys were able to experience some winter out there since we haven't had proper snow here in quite a while. As you will see from the pictures below, the kids obviously had a blast together!

Jonathan and Chris got to go sledding in Grandma and Grandpa's yard on very icy, very fast snow. It was a great time for them!

Today's Entertainment

No school? No worries! When you've got a driveway tear-out going on, you have endless hours of entertainment for the boys to watch. Good thing it's a cold day and we don't feel the need to be inside!

Australia

Christopher's class gave a fantastic presentation this morning about Australia! They have been studying the land down under for a couple months now and this was the culmination of their project. Each student looked in depth at an Australian animal they they presented their findings to us all. The presentation consisted of facts, songs, and poems and it was wonderful! Chris was even one of the narrators.

KC Boys

PHS Pancake Breakfast

Yesterday morning was the annual Pembroke Hill Pancake Breakfast! Everything was yummy and since it was a beautiful day, the kids got to play outside with their friends after ingesting these delicious chocolate chip pancakes. Don't worry, Grandpa Eric, we are going to have Jonathan lobby the school to change the date of the pancake breakfast next year so it coincides with Grandparents Day!

The Jungle Book and One Small Step

Last night, Christopher and I went to Barstow to see Danna's son, Liam, perform in The Jungle Book. He was a monkey and had some nice dance moves! It was fun to watch the kids and I think Chris definitely has an interest in trying out the acting thing too... In other news, the patio is complete! With the exception of plantings, the fountain (which will be delivered in April) and furniture (mid March), we are ready to barbecue. Christopher was insistent on being the first person to walk on the patio and he echoed the words of Neil Armstrong saying, "That's one small step for a man... " and then the excitement of being on the stone got the best of him and he took off running... 

We are so happy with how the patio came out and can't wait to see the finishing touches! We never thought we'd even be starting by March, never mind finishing. Thanks to a mild winter, we were pleasantly surprised. All are welcome to come hang out with us on it!

Comfy

I went into another room to do something for just 2 minutes and when I came back, Jonathan found himself a comfy position in which to relax!
