Fun and Games
We got together on this rainy afternoon with our neighborhood friends for a little indoor field day fun! Events included the three legged race, egg race, marble pick up and bean bag toss. Here is a little video of the three legged race. Chris and John were partners and came in a close second...
Jonathan and Noah were the spectators, cheering on the big kids and eating the props...
J was tired after all the craziness so he lounged with his friend Leatha...
Summer Project
I think for a fun summer project, Christopher and I are going to build an ark... Because it never stops raining around here! Apparently, May has had four days that have not involved rain.

Amy Thompson Run
We spent the morning at beautiful Loose Park participating in the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury. It was a great time and we had a great turn out--about 25 team members--to support my friend Sarah's brother Dan, who was in a serious car accident late last year. We had a great time for a great cause!

Memorial Day Weekend
I may have mentioned in previous posts that my grandfather (Clyde) served on the USS Texas in World War 2. On D-Day, his ship served as support for the troops that were invading the beaches in Normandy and so Christopher knows a bit about what happened. This morning, he created a reenactment of the invasion with a few of his own add ons. Chris, Jonathan and Holly were the Allies and Daddy, Kasey and I were the Germans. Holly dropped donut bombs on us and Jonathan dropped a bomb of his own which pretty much wiped us out! Then the Allies kidnapped Kasey and tried to lure us in to get her back with her cuteness. That's when we were defeated in their final attack. Perhaps it wasn't the way the actual day happened but at least the good guys won!

Take Me to Church
Christopher is ready to play the organ at church already! Here is the Doxology, complete with fussing baby...

Last Day of School
Even though he doesn't want me to call him this until the next school year starts, this kid is now a first grader...
Today was Christopher's last day of Kindergarten and it was the end of a great year for him. We are so grateful to his teachers, Ms. Clarke and Mrs. Beckman for all of their hard work! I got to take this big man out to Noodles and Company for lunch and then we snuck a peak at my Title Boxing place just next door too. We are so proud of Christopher!

Priorities
I had a Pandora station on this morning that was playing classical music and Canon in D was playing so we reminded Christopher that Canon in D was the song I walked down the aisle to when I married Daddy. The following conversation ensued...
Chris: Mommy, do you have to get married?
Mommy: No, but it's nice to get married to the right person.
Chris: You mean someone who's not a Red Sox fan.
In case you doubted if we were raising him right...

Grand Slam!
Well, in theory it was a grand slam. When you get to be the last batter and there are no outs and the bases are loaded, everybody gets to run home. Chris was really happy about it though!
Breakfast
Here's what happens when you take the boys out to breakfast and the older one has a huge chocolate chip pancake!

Basketball
Getting muddy outside while shooting hoops...
And although I took several videos prior to this one, Christopher insisted that I only put the one of him actually making a basket on You Tube...
Meanwhile, Christopher is officially cracking up Jonathan. Here is little man laughing at big man who was throwing a burp cloth from one end of the room to the other...

Hanging out with the Big Kids
Jonathan and I went down to the Hall's house in the early afternoon today for Education Connection, a little story time and activity that the nannies do with the big kids. J listened to the story that Tiffany read... well as much as you would expect!

Smiles! (With Teeth)
If you click on the picture and look closely, you can see the two bottom teeth that have come in for our little guy!

Happy Mother's Day!
Chris and his Sunday school group sang a special song for us in church this morning...
Don't Leave Mommy!
Jonathan has been going through a phase where he doesn't want to be left with anyone but Mommy (or Daddy). So when we have a babysitter he cries until we leave the house. Fortunately our sitter last night sent me a picture of what he looked like after we left...

Summer Birthdays
Today Christopher and several of his summer birthday friends got to celebrate a little early. The moms of these kiddos came in to the classroom bearing treats and the kids had a great time! Here is their birthday song...
Jonathan was a big hit with the kids too! Truman tried to teach him the sprinkler dance as well as how to do a fist bump. We're pretty sure that these kids could provide hours of entertainment for our little guy!

Kindergarten Concert and Art Show
Today was the Kindergarten Spring Concert and Art Show at Pembroke Hill! Chris has been talking about this concert everyday for the past two months. He sings the songs, practices the moves, and talks about it nonstop. I have to say as this year draws to a close, music has definitely been the subject that is Christopher's favorite! The theme for the concert was "Down on the Farm" and Ms. Clarke's class played the role of the pigs. It was a great show and all the parents were very proud of their soon-to-be-first graders!
Here is a recording of their final song...
Some of the children's artwork was on display in the foyer outside Curry Theater and it was fun to see some of the more detailed work Chris did this year. Here is his self-portrait (complete with green shirt, of course!).
And Chris made Holly famous by sculpting a coonhound (before he knew how to spell it!)...
Christopher's artistic abilities really came out this year and we are so proud of our big guy!

Team Dan
Jonathan is sporting one of our spiffy headbands that we ordered for a race we are doing on Memorial Day in honor of my friend Sarah's brother, who is dealing with a brain injury resulting from a car accident. We are honored to run for Dan and I have to say, I think Jonathan wears the headband best!
