Practice

No I didn't have my baby yet but I got the chance to visit my friend Tiffany yesterday and hold her little guy, Noah. He is so sweet! Plus he slept in my arms, resting on my belly, for almost the whole time I was there. While I was holding him, our little Baby Wogs 2 was pushing against him, either trying to come out and play or getting jealous that Mommy was holding another baby. Either way, I'm sure he'll be excited to meet his new little friend!

Deja Vu by Kasey

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe this same sort of furniture was placed in our old house about 6 years ago. I remember it not being used for several months and then there was sometimes crying and a funny smell emanating from it. Then, if the little thing inside it (which would later grow into Christopher) was sleeping and I barked at someone intruding on my territory by walking past our house, Mom would yell at me because that little thing would wake up and start crying again. I'm pretty sure I know what this means; I am picking up on the signs. But I'm not going to tell Holly. She will have to remain blissfully unaware. I, however, in my infinite wisdom know what's coming… Sigh...

(PS--Kasey has begun assuming her position in the nursery over the past week. She knows something is up!)

Baby Shower and Boy's Day

I am so grateful to my mom and my friends Danna and Debbie for planning a wonderful baby shower for me today! It was especially fun since I didn't know any of these friends when I was pregnant with Christopher. It was wonderful to share it with everyone! Here are a few pics… The first one is of Debbie, Danna, and my mom. The second with Tiffany and Leatha. The third is Meaghan, Sarah, Amy and Danielle. My friend Randa was there too but had to leave a little early so I didn't get a picture with her.

Since this is my second child (and I voluntarily got rid of a lot of things from when Chris was a baby) this shower was more of a "sprinkle" so my friends brought diapers, wipes and adorable clothes. This baby is hooked up with cute outfits! And of course my mom hooked me up with thank you notes...

Meanwhile, while I was celebrating with my friends, Christopher and Brian were off having fun at Legoland. They played games, went on rides and hung out with lego-made Star Wars characters…

First Day of Kindergarten!

Well, we have finally reached it--Christopher's first day of Kindergarten! When big days like this approach, he usually tells us he's nervous but last night at bedtime he said, "Mommy, I can't wait for tomorrow!" Even though he is going to a new building at Pembroke, he is still in familiar territory with friends he knows and a teacher he had camp with over the summer. I think all these factors helped him get so excited for his big first day! Daddy and I both joined him in his classroom this morning and he was especially excited to show Daddy the class pet fighting fish!

Chris showed us where his table was in the classroom and that was that--he was on his way. We are so excited for him to start this elementary school adventure!

Handsome

Today was Christopher's "moving up" day at church where they move the kids to the next grade level. In honor of the occasion, Chris got a little decked out, complete with his "new-for-school" size 2 sneakers…
After some encouragement, he gave us one of his big classic Christopher smiles…
Then we got Daddy in on the act too…

Special Treat

As a special treat today, on this last weekend before kindergarden starts, we took Christopher up to the Legends to have lunch at T-Rex, the dinosaur themed restaurant.

We had a fun lunch and as a special treat, Chris chose the Rice Krispy treat dinosaur that he could "paint" and then eat.
After we were done eating, we made a trip to their gift shop and Chris chose to stuff a pteranadon and he named it Rex.

It was a very fun afternoon for our boy!

More pictures

I've probably taken more pictures today than I have in the past month so here are some more randoms… Chris is, in fact, looking forward to being a big brother and he showed it by giving his baby brother a big "through my stomach" kiss…
And then Chris was showing us his own "pregnant" picture…
Later on in the evening, we went over to Pembroke for the annual back to school ice cream social. Now last year when we went, Chris didn't know a lot of the kids yet so he was a bit reserved and kind of played on his own. This year however, we got there and he took off! He found a lot of his friends and almost put the actual ice cream off for awhile. (Almost!) After he finished his treat though, it was off to play while Mommy and Daddy caught up with new friends we got to know over the last year. In fact, if I even tried to say anything to my boy, it was obvious I was cramping his style! Especially when he was hanging with this young lady…
Before we left the house Chris said, "Mommy, if Finley is there, you are going to see a big smile on my face!" And that was the truth. :)

Secret Spy Team Six

When Sam and Noah came over this morning, the three boys came up with secret agent costumes and transformed into Secret Spy Team Six in order to spy upon their chatting mothers...

Fish Maker

For the past year, Chris has been into making stuff with construction paper, scissors and tape. Recently, fueled by Daddy's interest in fish, he has moved from making planes to fish. This morning, it was an algae eater!
