Recently

Hello everyone! Here are some updates in the life of the Wogloms since Halloween...

First, Christopher is at that age where he is starting to care about his haircut and wants to have a little style. Looks like no more Great Clips for us! I took them to this "guy" barbershop and they got fantastic cuts (along with pomade that they are both styling their hair with daily! 😂😂😂)...

This past weekend, Brian took the boys to Arkansas for a double feis. Chris placed 5th on Sunday and walked away with yet another crystal bowl!
Jonathan loved eating bacon in Arkansas...
While Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some amazing vegan nachos yesterday in KC, compliments of (well, we had to pay for them) Mattie's Vegan Food Truck...
The boys went to Arkansas without me because I had to go up to Cooperstown to visit my dad, who was in the hospital. Long story short, he is doing a lot better now. While I was there, I woke up to a beautiful sunrise in the mountains and a visitor having breakfast...

I also was reminded of the proper pronunciation of coffee (not that I needed the reminder!)...
And I found a few photo gems from my childhood!

Including this shot with Claude Lemieux, my favorite NJ Devil in the nineties!
This week has been back to normal and Chris has taken it upon himself to teach Jonathan how to read 💕...

More Halloween

Above is pictured our two superhero boys--Bumblebee and Keith, the paladin from Voltron. On Halloween evening, we had a crew of friends over to eat pizza and set out to go trick-or-treating. Despite the cold and snow, the kids made out like bandits and collected more than enough candy!
Later, after returning from their outing, the kids sat around eating and trading and eating some more candy...
It was a fun night and Chris and his friends slept over (not here!!!) at Cameron's house and had a great time. After getting about four hours of sleep, Chris slept well last night and we are having a somewhat chill Saturday morning. So are the dogs...

Halloween?

Well today is probably the kids favorite time of the year--the day when people just give them free candy! It's Halloween although it didn't look like it this morning...

And then, because of a miscommunication in email, I missed Jonathan's ghost walk because I was in the gym where the lower school parade was (they are usually altogether and you would think since it's 25 degrees out that maybe the little ones should be inside too?). Anyway, thanks to some wonderful moms in J's class, I got some pictures of my little Bumblebee (the Transformer, not the insect)...

I was able to be at his classroom party however and we had a lovely time there...

Later, we are supposed to have a bunch of Christopher's friends over to trick or treat and to have pizza...

Halloween Prep

Happy fall! We had a beautiful day to carve our pumpkins outside yesterday. Both boys came up with their own face designs and our jack-o-lanterns are waiting on our doorstep to protect our candy while we go trick or treating...
Also, Athena is getting an early start on her Halloween candy! Actually, she is just having fun with the Junior Mints dog toy that Robby brought her!

Robby's Visit

So we had a visitor from California this weekend! Grandma Jan's cousin Robby came into KC from San Diego and we had a wonderful time with her! Yesterday, both boys had sleepovers (Chris for a birthday party and J spent the evening at Grammy's) and so Brian and I had a lovely dinner out downtown with Robby. Here is a picture of us and also of the food I got--vegan pumpkin risotto, in an actual pumpkin!

Today she got to meet the boys for the first time and brought fun activities for them to do! Robby loves dogs so she brought doggie birthday cakes to make. The dogs were very happy with their cakes and it is their birthdays sometime this year so why not!
She also brought leaves and we all painted them to create a fun fall centerpiece for the kitchen table...
After Jonathan showed her some somersaults and Chris showed her his Irish dance moves, we all went to Spin Pizza for a delicious dinner. Thanks for visiting us Robby! We'll be out to California soon!

New York, New York

We spent this past weekend in New York seeing family, exploring the city, celebrating Grandma Jan and feising! It was so great to spend time with everyone. Aside from eating bagels and lots of diner food, we had a great trip to the city on Saturday. It was Jonathan's first trip to Manhattan and he got to ride the subway (check that off his wish list) and visit Daddy's old neighborhood. We started our journey on the Metro North...

 Checked out Grand Central...

 Got on the subway...
 Meandered down 86th...
 Saw Daddy's old building...

 Played at Carl Shurz Park...

 Walked the promenade...

 Played at the park...

And ate black and white cookies!

Sunday was feis day, in addition to being Grandma's birthday. Chris danced at the Verlin Feis in Pearl River...

And he was supported by Grandpa T and Nancy, as well as Grandma Jan and Grandpa Eric...

Later in the day, we celebrated Grandma Jan's birthday at the cousins' house with great food, memories and fun!
